Planning of the Kinderlou Forest community emphasized preservation of natural areas, green space and ample room for the golf course and residents alike.  True to its name, the community at Kinderlou Forest is equally divided into areas that are surrounded by a deciduous forest and southern pine forest.  The double-gated community currently features 250 home sites as well as an upscale Town home community spanning over 1000 acres.  This number of home sites and condominiums on a large area establishes room for golfers and residents to live and play in privacy.
